Lifecycle Management – Part 6: How to Export Objects from the Content Network
In the previous post in our seven-part blog series, we learned about the different types of content packages that are available in SAP Analytics Cloud and how to import these packages using the Content Network. In this blog, you will learn how to export the content package from the Content Network to share Business Content with other systems. To do so, you must go through the following steps.
First, navigate to the main menu, find Transport, and select Export:
The Content Network Storage is selected by default. To create a new export select the + sign:
Next, select the object type that you want to export. All dependent objects will be selected automatically:
Enter the name, description, and details of the package:
The Category section displays the "My Content" folder by default. You may keep this setting if you would like to perform a private export:
Within this folder, you may also select a specific location:
The Destinations section allows you to share the content with other systems. To share the content, select the + sign:
In the first field select the Destination Type. Choose System to share the content with SAP data centers and non-SAP data centers or select Customer to share the content with a system that belongs to an OEM or partner:
For System destination, you must select the landscape and enter the system URL:
Next, select the access:
For Customer destination, you must select the customer ID and the access.
To require users to accept the terms and conditions, you can turn on the Terms and Conditions option and add all the details in the description:
Click Next to see an overview of your package and then select Export:
Now, you should see a notification message that the export process started. Once the export process has been completed, you will see the content in the location that you selected in the Package Properties:
Navigate to the main menu and under Transport select Export. Then go to the My Content folder to see the package:
The transport feature allows users to manage objects efficiently. For those that have multiple environments, this feature can be leveraged to transport tested objects or data once it has been approved. Now that you know how to export, are you ready to share content?
